Service Prep

We want to make your hair and makeup experience fun, organized and most of all ON TIME! So, take a minute to review our helpful and important preparation details below and don't forget to share with your party:

Prepare your home, hotel room or venue for your team's arrival.

A separate space should be made available for stylists to conduct services. Artists will not work in any bathroom area for sanitary reasons.
For the safety and sanitary well-being of the artists and clients, animals are not permitted in the ready area. Please secure all animals in another room away from artist stations.
Stylists will not be work out doors. All ready rooms must be properly ventilated and air conditioned (summer), heated (winter).
It is the home owner's responsibility to cover floors or carpet that are near or directly under the artist work station.
If possible, stylists should not climb more than one flight of stairs to ready space as they carry heavy gear.
Service room should be clean and ready at start time. Stylists are to be provided with a non-smoking environment.
Kindly keep tables, sideboards and any surface area clear for team's hair and makeup gear.
Please have a low-back chair for each hair stylist. For makeup, if possible, please have one high stool per makeup artist.
If possible, request stools/chairs/tables from hotel staff the night before wedding- they are always available!
Absolutely no IV Infusion treatments are permitted during any client's service.

Refer to Your Timeline

Your team will arrive 15-30 minutes before the first party members are started.

Party members should be in the artist’s chair at their designated time slot- just know the timeline is not an exact science and could be asked to start a bit earlier so don't disappear!

Kindly do not eat during any service. Sip your mimosa but eat that bagel before or after your service please! And don't worry, your team will touch you up before leaving. PLEASE BRUSH YOUR TEETH BEFORE YOUR FINAL TOUCH UP.

Switching time slots can be accommodated; however, it could mess up that beautifully timed schedule if too many people move their position, so it's not recommended.

Clients will not borrow or use any products or tools from stylists.

Makeup Prep

Our artists specialize in elegant, timeless soft glam to high-glam bridal makeup, which is included in all makeup services.

We consider full-glam makeup as that which has the following:

Full-face highlighting and contouring using multiple shades and layering.
Cut crease, heavy eyeshadow with intensity, sometimes including sparkle and deep pigment.
Extreme liner, smoked out or winged and heavy lashes.

Strip lashes are included with all makeup applications. A FULL LASH OF INDIVIDUAL LASHES IS NOT and is an additional $30 if requested on wedding day. Venmo @beautifulbrides.

Brows should be groomed/waxed/tweezed. Artist can pluck a few hairs, but full brow grooming is not provided.

All party members will receive traditional makeup. Airbrush makeup is an additional fee and should be requested at time of contract.

High Glam Makeup

Soft Glam

Feel free to cleanse and moisturize before your makeup application.

Please feel free to bring your favorite lipstick or gloss so you have it to touch up all day.

Please bring makeup inspiration photos.

Understand that party members’ makeup cannot be re-done if the artist executes what was asked for by the client. An “I don’t like how it looks on me” response can only be redone if time permits at the end of the timeline.

Please be realistic.

Understand that 99.9% of inspiration (IG/Pinterest) are 100% photoshopped, edit and professionally lit.

Hair Prep

Hollywood Glam Waves or Retro Styles require more time. Please request this look ahead of wedding. However, this style is typically reserved for the bride, and we don't advise any party member to request. See photo example.

Please bring hair inspiration photos.

Understand that party members’ hair cannot be re-done if the artist executes what was asked for by the client. An “I don’t like how it looks on me” response can only be redone if time permits at the end of the timeline.

If you or anyone want to use clip-in extensions, kindly inform before the timeline is done. Stylists cannot add extensions on service day if not included.

IF stylist has time to add, kindly Venmo $40 to @beautifulbrides before work begins.

Please ensure clip-in extensions are

de-matted and combed out.

Hair should be clean and DRY and do not flat iron, as it's harder to curl and put into an up-do or down do. Feel free to use product but nothing that weighs hair down.

If you're getting an updo, sometimes a wash a day before is best. Just avoid overly oily hair.

If your hair is wet, you will be asked to leave the chair and DRY yourself. If stylist dries your hair, there is a $40 fee made payable to @beautifulbrides via Venmo.

STYLISTS WILL NOT OFFER THEIR PROFESSIONAL BLOW DRYERS FOR THIS PURPOSE.

Ethnic or extremely curly "natural" hair cannot be straightened on wedding day. Stylist will provide styling on hair as it is presented.

Miscellaneous

Children under the age of 12 should be accompanied by an adult during service.
No breastfeeding, eating or speaking on cell phone during service.
No IV treatments during service.
No animals near service area.
Add-on services may be allowed if time permits and when everyone on the original timeline has been finished. Cash or Venmo only is accepted for add-on services. Kindly Venmo @beautifulbrides prior to service.
Wear a robe or other top that does not have to be lifted over your head. Button down shirts are not recommended as the collar can rub against hair and pull low styles out of place.

IMPORTANT

Our stylists are incredibly talented, but not magicians! Remember, social media photos are typically of models and are heavily edited, photoshopped and also employ false lighting to increase facial glow, shimmer and hair dimension.

Hair styles with extra thickness or length often involve extensions. Consider your hair type and skin tone when choosing a style. For example, if you are brunette, only send makeup and hair photos of women with your coloring. If you have shoulder-length hair, do not choose hair inspiration with a model hair that is past the bra line. Also, make sure you choose photos that are close in age as well.

Also, remember -- Don't be timid in expressing concerns or dissatisfaction to your artists. If you chose a look that once finished, you simply do not like it on YOU, that is not the fault of the artist and should be addressed right then and there. THEY ARE THERE TO MAKE SURE YOU 100% LOVE YOUR LOOK SO PLEASE SPEAK UP!
